Book #2: “My Name is Aram” by William Saroyan

I finished this in the same day as the last book - it was sitting on Yvonne’s bookshelf and reminded me of a Tie These Hands song of the same name. The two aren’t related in any way, but the music certainly proved a nice backing to the book.

It’s a collection of short stories revolving around Aram, a young Armenian boy living near Fresno, California.

So, I’ve been moved in for two weeks how, and I’m starting this challenge that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. The goal is to read 52 books over the course of a year - so roughly a book each week.

I did start this book before tour, so arguably it shouldn’t count. But I need a good jumping off point, and this book took a ridiculously long time to read (with not a very satisfying ending, at that).

There’s a huge likelihood that I’ll occasionally be reading children’s books to make up for lost time….but the goal is more for quantity rather than quality. That, and picture books are fun.
